Florida’s Premier Literary Journal: Stories - Poems - Essays - Art
By Tampa Press Editors  & Staff

Richard Protovin’s “Moonscape” on the cover reminds us of Florida’s intimate connections with the moon. An archetypal symbol of reflection and cyclic change, the moon has particular resonance in Florida, where the exploration of the lunar landscape has become richly symbolic, literary, and literal. Jules Verne launched his imaginary “From the Earth to the Moon” from a site near Tampa; a generation danced and swooned to “Moon Over Miami;” and decades later, astronauts set out from Cape Kennedy to map the surface of the moon and explore the depths beyond. This issue contains a wonderful, multi-layered selection of new writing and art that offers a more “reflective” side of the “sunshine state.”
