Take Part in An Evening of Experimental Dance at UT Nov. 11

Witness the interplay of visual art, music and dance during An Evening of Experimental Dance at The University of Tampa’s Scarfone/Hartley Gallery on Friday, Nov. 11. The event begins at 7:30 p.m. and is free and open to the public.

During this semi-interactive performance, UT faculty and students will create choreography in relation to the current exhibition, A Garden of Lines: Zachari Logan, Selected Drawings 2011–2016.

The event redefines “performance art,” combining dance and music as well as spoken word, visual art and — sometimes — unusual props, to blur the boundaries of traditional disciplines into a playful night of the unexpected.

“This performance is truly experimental as no one knows what the space is going to look like and what the music will be,” said Susan Taylor Lennon, professor of dance, who is organizing the event.

The gallery is located on campus at the R.K. Bailey Art Studios, 310 N. Blvd. For more information, contact Lennon at (813) 257-3745 or staylor.lennon@ut.edu.
