Career Specialties: Susan Brinkley specializes in research in incarceration and CCTV.
Professional and Community Activities: Brinkley has been a case manager for the Federal Bureau of Prisons. Her research has involved finding more appropriate punishments for prisoners of the criminal justice system and developing concern for the fate of prisoners after they leave prison.
She believes that practical solutions to these issues could mean better lives for prisoners and less cost to the public. She is examining the effectiveness of CCTV as a law enforcement tool and exploring the impact of that technology on privacy.
