UT Students Honor Martin Luther King Jr. with Service Day

»WATCH VIDEO

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. once said, “Life’s most persistent and urgent question is: ‘What are you doing for others?’” More than 100 students, faculty and staff from The University of Tampa answered this question and honored the memory of King on Friday, Jan. 24, with a day of service to the Tampa community.

An annual tradition at the University, participants volunteered their time and energy at five area nonprofits, including Metropolitan Ministries, Habitat for Humanity ReStore, Sustainable Living Project, Keeping Tampa Bay Beautiful and the Animal Coalition of Tampa.

The Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service is organized by the PEACE (People Exploring Active Community Experience) Volunteer Center.
