Shane Smith specializes in the advancement of service quality and the ability to properly measure the financial impact of such in financial terms. The customer value that results from this strategic view of services then enables the organization to better make choices on implementing its customers satisfaction programs.
Professional and Community Activities:
Smith is greatly involved with the business community and assisting organizations in furthering their ability to assist their customers. He has published several articles in peer-reviewed journals as well as authoring a chapter in a leading business book and presents his work at various conferences annually. He has also engaged himself in the community by serving on the board of various business institutions. He also brings over a decade of industry experience prior to entering academia with a strong concentration in the sports, entertainment and hospitality industries.
Honors and Awards
Smith has won teaching awards including the Outstanding Teaching Award at the University of South Carolina.
