  • Skull and Bones

    • Description: University of Tampa's only pre-professional organization, Skull and Bones offers biweekly meetings with various speakers, (including medical, dental, veterinary, pharmaceutical, optometry, chiropractic and physical therapy) which help to further educate, inform and prepare UT students for future graduate schooling. The speakers provide students with admission requirements, information and statistics about their campus and programs, provide insight through current student perspectives, and most importantly allows students to be exposed to graduate school options. Skull and Bones participates in informative meetings but also provides community outreach opportunities for our members.

    • Description: University of Tampa Recovery Community is safe space for UT students struggling with addiction and substance abuse to come together and support each other. It is modeled after the CRC (College Recovery Community) initially established at Texas Tech, and its primary purpose is to support recovering students by sharing the goals of providing support, preventing relapse and promoting academic performance. Students can engage with and seek support from students fighting the same battles as well as have access to supportive faculty and staff members on the UT campus. UTRC is designed to provide an educational opportunity alongside recovery support to ensure that students do not have to sacrifice one for the other.

    • Description: Watch your BAC (Blood Alcohol Concentration) is a harm reduction program that encourages college students to lower their risk if they choose to drink alcohol. Areas of alcohol education include: None For the Road; Staying In Your Green Zone (keeping your BAC below a .06); and Standard Drink Equivalents to reduce alcohol related problems. We also work with DACCO, a local alcohol coalition which provides us with social media outlets, events, and even an app to “Watch Your BAC” if consuming alcohol.
