Dr. McRae’s expertise includes the life history and ecology of Hawaiian fishes, especially kuhliids. She has also been involved with stream and estuarine restoration efforts in the Hawaiian islands.Professional and Community Activities:
Dr. McRae has won awards from the Florida Academy of Sciences and the Society for Conservation Biology. She has conducted extensive ecological research under large grants from the state of Hawaii. She is a PADI divemaster, and is a member of the American Society of Ichthyologists and Herpetologists.
