UT’s Leadership Speaker Series Kicks Off Oct. 2 with Discussion on Affordable Care Act

The Affordable Care Act will be up for discussion on Thursday, Oct. 2, when The University of Tampa welcomes attorney Andrew McLaughlin to campus. McLaughlin will speak on A Primer on the Affordable Care Act and Its Impact on Business as part of the TECO Center for Leadership Speaker Series.

The presentation begins at 4:30 p.m. in the Sykes College of Business, Room 131, and is free and open to the public, though space is limited.

In his presentation, McLaughlin will provide an overview of the Affordable Care Act (ACA), including the implications of recent decisions. He will also discuss upcoming challenges and opportunities related to the ACA.

McLaughlin is an attorney with Macfarlane, Ferguson & McMullen, where he practices labor and employment law with a focus on the ACA and employee benefits. He earned his law degree from Stetson University College of Law and a Master of Laws with a certificate in employee benefits from Georgetown University Law Center.

The TECO Center for Leadership Speaker Series is dedicated to bringing outstanding leaders from the private, government and nonprofit sectors to campus to discuss business topics and corporate strategies with students and members of the community.
