UT Jazz Combo, Interactive Arts Ensemble and World Drumming Ensemble Concert April 28

On Saturday, April 28, The University of Tampa Jazz Combo, Interactive Arts Ensemble and World Drumming Ensemble will perform. The concert begins at 2 p.m. in Falk Theatre, 428 W. Kennedy Blvd., and is free and open to the public.

The Jazz Combo, directed by Thomas Jemmott, performs a mix of jazz standards, funk classics and contemporary pop songs. The group will perform vocal and instrumental jazz covering swing, bop, Latin and funk styles.

UT's Interactive Arts Ensemble, directed by Victor Ezquerra, uses technology in creative ways to compose, improvise and perform experimental, interdisciplinary works. The ensemble is a performance-driven creative workshop for physical interaction design, real-time video art and creative repurposing of technology for interdisciplinary performance.

The World Drumming Ensemble, directed by Nathan Strawbridge, is a high energy performance group where students perform music of West African drumming styles. This is a popular class at UT, where students learn hand-drumming techniques from non-Western cultures in a fun, high-energy performance ensemble.
