Irish Consul General to Speak at UT Wednesday, Sept. 19

On Wednesday, Sept. 19, The University of Tampa will welcome Irish Consul General Shane Stephens for a discussion on “Ireland and its European Future: European Policy and Current Events.” The event begins at 7 p.m. in the Plant Hall Grand Salon and is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be served.

During the talk, Stephens will discuss topics including why America still needs the European Union and the Irish bridges to Europe.

Stephens has served as the highest-ranking Irish diplomat to the Southeast region of the U.S. since 2015 from the Irish Consulate in Atlanta. The Consulate General of Ireland in Atlanta works to promote Ireland across the states of the U.S. Southeast and to build and sustain relationships at the highest levels of government, business and education.
