Gina Vivinetto specializes in fiction and nonfiction writing. A former arts journalist and pop culture writer, Vivinetto enjoys encouraging students to think about the roles popular culture, the arts and technology play in our lives.
Professional and Community Activities:

Vivinetto has published more than one thousand book reviews, theatre reviews, music reviews and feature stories in or on People.com, Logo.com, Washington City Paper, the Chicago Sun-Times, Oakland Tribune, the St. Petersburg Times, Tampa Tribune, Rockgrl and others.

Her fiction has appeared in Boulevard, the New Orleans Review and Creative Loafing.

Vivinetto is immersed in Tampa Bay area arts. She blogs about local literary news for Creative Pinellas, and is a juror for the Tampa International Gay and Lesbian Film Fest. She makes frequent guest appearances as a local arts figure on WMNF 88.5-FM. She founded the Dirty Dishers, a comedy troupe that performs by reading aloud from celebrity autobiographies.

Honors and Awards

Vivinetto has won numerous writing awards for her fiction including the Boulevard Emerging Writer Award. She has been nominated for the Pushcart Prize.

Her arts journalism has been lauded by organizations ranging from the American Association of Sunday and Features Editors to Ms. magazine.
