UT to Demolish Old Residence Hall, Construct New Hall in its Place

The University of Tampa has announced it will demolish a wing of a nearly 30-year-old residence hall and will break ground immediately on a new residence hall in its place.

The southern wing of ResCom, which faces North A Street on campus, will be demolished starting on Thursday, May 15.

After demolition, a new residence hall will be built immediately in its place. The new hall is tentatively set to be completed by late January 2015.

Further details about the demolition and new construction will be announced late next week.

ResCom was built in 1986. It consists of three, three-story, apartment-like wings and houses a total of 235 students.

Crossroads Construction has been named to demolish the southern wing and build the new residence hall.
