Professional and Community Activities: Kate Wittrock's thesis research focused on ESL and the use of role-play as a kinesthetic strategy to teach reading to ELL students. In 2005, she started a successful ESL program at a charter school in Minneapolis, MN, that is still in successful operation today. In 2009, Wittrock moved to Tampa where she took a position as ESOL Resource Teacher at a Title I school with a large ELL population. During 2010-2013, she continued her work as an ESOL resource teacher, as well as an adjunct professor. While working as an adjunct, she taught ESOL courses at The University of Tampa in the Department of Education.
