The UT Chamber Winds/Percussion Camp occurs July 7-12, 2013, and is an intensive music workshop for students of winds, brass and percussion instruments entering grades 9 to 12 in Fall 2013. It is directed by applied music faculty at The University of Tampa.
The program includes chamber music coachings led by an internationally distinguished faculty of artist/teachers; master classes for chamber groups such as trios, quartets and quintets; additional courses in theory, drumming and guitar; and full orchestra rehearsals with string students from the UT Orchestra Camp.
For consideration, applicants must submit an audition recording which can be in form of a CD, DVD or a recording uploaded online.
Chamber Winds/Percussion Camp Schedule
The camp schedule is as follows...
Sunday: 5-8 p.m. Registration, chamber music group assignments, dinner, check in to the residence hall
Monday-Friday:
- 8:30-10 a.m.: Chamber music coaching/rehearsals
- 10 a.m.-12 p.m.: Reed Class/Theory Class
- 12-1 p.m.: Lunch
- 1-2 p.m.: Chamber music coaching/rehearsals
- 2-4:30 p.m.: Full orchestra rehearsal
- 4:30-5:30 p.m.: Master Class
- 5:30-7 p.m.: Dinner
- 7:30 p.m.: Concert and recreational events
Grande Finale Concert
The Grand Finale Concert will be held Friday...
- When: Friday at 7:30 p.m. in Falk Theatre
- Location: Falk Theatre is located on Kennedy Boulevard just across from the University's main entrance
Fees
There are separate fees for day and resident campers...
- Day Camper: $245* (lunch included)
- Resident Camper: $445* (all meals included)
- *Additional late registration fee after May 15 of $25

There are two parts of registration. To begin,
complete the online application form (part 1 of 2). Once completed, you'll be directed to a document (part 2 of 2) that you can fill out online, but then needs to be printed and mailed or faxed to the Department of Music. Complete instructions are provided in the registration documents.

All music faculty will be University of Tampa professors and/or certified educators in Florida. Housing directors and activity leaders will be carefully selected college students with camp counselor experience. All faculty are selected based on outstanding performance professionally and their personal commitment to providing the best experience possible.
