The University of Tampa will be featured tonight on CNN as part of the
CNN-sponsored Republican presidential candidate debate that is being
held at 8 p.m. in St. Petersburg.
UT will host a 24-member focus
group of undecided Republican voters, who will watch the debate in Plant
Hall’s Fletcher Lounge and electronically express their satisfaction
and dissatisfaction with the candidates throughout the debate. The
debate will include live broadcasts from UT, and the group’s electronic
tallies will scroll in real time as the debate progresses.
More than 4 million viewers tuned into CNN’s Democratic presidential candidate debate on Nov. 16.
A team from CNN visited campus on Nov. 15 to scout locations for the focus group throughout Tampa, and chose UT.
The
debate, also sponsored by YouTube, will feature videotaped questions
from people across the United States, including, possibly, some from UT
students.
