The University of Tampa has appointed Michelle Pelaez, a UT graduate, to the position of University registrar.
As
registrar, Pelaez oversees the management of records and all
registration activities for 5,600 students. She is responsible for the
preparation of class schedules and classrooms, transfer credit
evaluations and graduation audits.
Pelaez earned a bachelor’s
degree in management in 1996 and an MBA in 2003, both from The
University of Tampa. She has been employed at UT since 2000, first as
assistant registrar for transfer evaluation and then as associate
registrar from 2004 to July 2007. She has served as acting registrar
since July 2007. Her accomplishments at UT include serving as a core
team member in the successful conversion of the student information
system and the development of academic Web services.
A member of
the American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions
Officers, Pelaez also is active on the Board of Directors of the Friends
of the Lutz library. She lives in Lutz and is a third-generation Tampa
native.
