UT freshman Natasha Sackett, 18, was critically injured in a vehicle accident
at the corner of Kennedy Boulevard and S. Hyde Park Avenue Sunday, Oct. 29, and
remains in critical condition at Tampa General Hospital as of Nov. 6.
“Our hearts and prayers go out to Natasha as we hope for the best outcome
from this unfortunate accident,” said Bob Ruday, dean of students.
The accident occurred about 10 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 29, as Natasha was traveling
east on Kennedy Boulevard on her motorbike when a Honda Accord going west on
Kennedy turned onto S. Hyde Park in front of her. She collided with the car. The
driver of the Accord was charged in the accident.
Natasha's family has asked that there be no calls, visitors, flowers or gifts
to Natasha at this time. Due to a large number of requests for updates on
Natasha's status, her family has created a blog at http://tashblog.wordpress.com/.
