Retired
FBI profiler Joe Navarro will present “Grilling the Perp,” a free discussion
based on advanced interviewing techniques on Tuesday, Feb. 24, at 4 p.m. in room
AV2 of UT’s Macdonald-Kelce Library. The free presentation is part of the eighth
annual “UT Writes,” presented by the Friends of the Macdonald-Kelce Library.
Based on his book with John R. Schafer, Advanced Interviewing
Techniques—Proven Strategies for Law Enforcement, Military, and Security
Personnel (Thomas Books, December 2003), Navarro’s discussion will focus on the
latest verbal and nonverbal methodologies, not previously published, that help
interviewers to identify with greater certainty when interviewees are lying or
concealing information.
While law enforcement, military and intelligence professionals will likely be
the primary audience, attorneys, human resource professionals, and anyone else
who makes frequent inquiry of others should find the information
beneficial.
