The University of Tampa’s John
H. Sykes College of Business will host the Florida Directors’ Institute on
Friday, Feb. 20. The program will run from 8:15 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Allen N.
Reeves Theater, on the second floor of the Vaughn Center. A continental
breakfast, also at Reeves Theater, will begin at 7:30 a.m.
A pre-event reception will be held on Thursday, Feb. 19, from 7 to 9 p.m. at
the Tampa Marriott Waterside Hotel, the event’s host hotel.
Lunch with keynote speaker John H. Keyes, chairman and former CEO of Johnson
Controls Inc., will be from noon to 1:30 p.m. in the Plant Hall Grand Salon.
The program is intended for board members of public and nearly public
companies. Distinguished experts and leaders in business and law will lead the
panel discussions. Topics will include governance best practices, new audit
committee responsibilities, potential impact of new shareholder activism and
access to proxies, directors’ responsibilities in the M and A environment, and
dealing with corporate crisis.
