The
University of Tampa Department of Speech, Theater and Dance presents its popular
Spring Dance Concert on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, Feb. 19-Feb. 21, at 8
p.m., with a Saturday matinee on Feb. 21 at 2 p.m. All performances will be at
UT’s David Falk Theater, on Kennedy Boulevard opposite the campus.
The annual Spring Dance Concert features choreography by UT faculty and guest
artists, with performances by UT students. Dance styles include ballet, modern,
ballroom, swing dance, tap and jazz. Choreographers include UT Dance faculty
Susan Taylor Lennon, Sandra Sears and Debra Loran. Choreography award-winner and
UT graduate Alison Woodbury will join Moving Current dance company co-director
Cynthia Hennessy, Christie Henson, and former Tampa Ballet dancer Bill
Philin-Ploplis to round out the program.
“The diversity of the Spring Dance Concert is its great strength,” said
Lennon. “We feature a broad range of dance styles and choreographers, and our
students are from broad cultural backgrounds, as well.”
