UT’s
John H. Sykes College of Business, the Financial Valuation Group, Financial
Executives International and Knowledge Leaders will collaborate to bring the
greater Tampa Bay community an exclusive business event on Friday, Jan. 30.
The event begins at 8 a.m. with registration and a complimentary hot
breakfast buffet in the Crescent Room of UT’s Vaughn Center. The purpose of the
event is to enhance the business community’s understanding of forthcoming
challenges and opportunities in the world of financial reporting for both public
and private companies.
At 9 a.m., the program begins with an introduction from University of Tampa
President Ron Vaughn. Robert H. Herz will follow Dr. Vaughn with the keynote
address, “Challenges and Opportunities Facing Financial Reporting.” Herz’s
presentation will be followed by a moderated executive panel discussion. The
executive panel will consist of corporate executives and financial analysts from
the greater Tampa Bay area.
Herz was appointed Chairman of the Financial Accounting Standards Board in
2002. Previously, he was a senior partner with PricewaterhouseCoopers and a
member of the firm’s global and U.S. boards. He also served as a part-time
member of the International Accounting Standards Board. He is both a certified
public accountant and a chartered accountant.
During his distinguished career, Herz has authored numerous publications on a
variety of accounting, auditing and business subjects. Included among those
contributions is the recent book The Value Reporting Revolution: Moving
