UT Jazz Offers Free Concert

The UT Jazz Ensemble and Faculty Jazztet will present a free concert at the Falk Theater on Tuesday, Dec. 2, at 7:30 p.m.

 

Under the direction of Wayne Gallops, visiting professor of music and interim director of bands, the Jazz Ensemble performs numbers by Herbie Hancock, Chic Corea, Sonny Rollins, Duke Ellington and even John Lennon-Paul McCartney, among others.

 

The University¹s Faculty Jazztet is comprised of music faculty members Steve Mathews on guitar, Bill Swartzbaugh on bass, Dr. Terry Mohn on saxophone, Dr. David Coash on drums, and Gallops on piano. The Jazztet plays tunes by Dizzy Gillespie, Miles Davis and others.
