Distinguished speakers and
executive workshops highlight The University of Tampa Leadership Conference on
Friday, Nov. 8, from 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. The event will be in UT’s Sykes
Information Theater. Cost is $200 per person, and includes luncheon in the
Vaughn Center Crescent Room.
After a continental breakfast at 8 a.m. and a welcome, introduction and
overview at 8:30, the conference gets down to business at 9 a.m. with Dr. Barry
Z. Posner, keynote speaker. Posner is an internationally renowned leadership
scholar, practitioner and author. He has written more than 80 research and
practitioner-oriented articles, and is co-author of the award-winning leadership
best-seller The Leadership Challenge: How to Keep Getting Extraordinary Things
Done in Organizations. He will be available for signing of his latest book,
Encouraging the Heart.
The luncheon speaker is Ron O’Neil, senior vice president for Human Resources
at Kaiser Permanente in Oakland, CA. O’Neil will provide insights into the
intricacies of executive search for today’s leaders. A former managing partner
of Heidrich & Struggles, he will share his expertise in “identifying,
attracting, and retaining leadership talent in a world of uncertainty.”
In addition to the speakers, morning and afternoon executive workshop
sessions will be conducted by executives from Human Research Institute of St.
Petersburg, Point of Contact LLC of Memphis, and Forrester-Smith of Tampa.
The Leadership Conference is sponsored by the TECO Energy Center for
Leadership.
