On Friday, Aug. 27, students from The University of Tampa will help
more people than ever during the 11th annual Into the Streets volunteer
event. The PEACE Volunteer Center
has expanded the list of organizations that will benefit from the day
of service, which includes more than 500 students, faculty and staff
going into the community and volunteering, doing things like cleaning
apartments for the elderly, cleaning up local parks and sorting food
donations to the Metropolitan Ministries.
The goal of this
program is for incoming students to realize the importance of giving
back to the community and to continue volunteering throughout their time
at UT and beyond. All incoming students, as well as faculty and staff,
are invited to participate.
