Career Specialties
Brooke Scherer specializes in a versatile array of fundamental foundations and print mediums of graphic design, including typographic composition, symbolic formation, color theory, computer illustration, outdoor/exhibition design, packaging, publication, poster, and logo/branding. Her research background focuses on the importance of integrating cultural studies into the graphic design curriculum, as well as the increasing need for sustainability design. Brooke Scherer is a member of AIGA, the College Art Association, and Southeastern College Art Conference (SECAC). She has presented her research on cultural studies and led her own presentation panel at SECAC conferences. She has an extensive background in industry and remains an active freelance designer. Most recently, Brooke was involved with a team who helped design a Holocaust Memorial Monument for the Jewish Federation of Greater Des Moines, which is in the process of construction on grounds of the Iowa State Capitol Building.Honors and Awards
