Business Network Symposium Features Healthcare, Apparel and Networking Industries

Leaders in the healthcare management, intimate apparel, and networking and telecommunications industries will share their experiences at the first Business Network Symposium of the 2012-2013 academic year on Tuesday, Oct.9. There will be a continental breakfast at 7:15 a.m., followed by the program from 7:45 to 9 a.m. The event, which is free and open to the public, will be held in the Vaughn Center Crescent Club.

Jimmy St. Louis is CEO of Advanced Healthcare Partners (AHP), a leading healthcare management and consulting company. Prior to joining AHP, St. Louis managed the medical operations and corporate administration for Laser Spine Institute (LSI), a leader in endoscopic spine surgery. During his tenure, St. Louis successfully guided LSI through a period of immense growth.

Rhonda Shear is the president of Shear Enterprises LLC, which has produced a popular line of apparel called Rhonda Shear Intimates since 2002. The company posted $72 million in sales in 2011, and Shear is the recipient of several entrepreneurship awards. For 25 years Shear was an actress, comedienne and host, and starred in the USA Network series “Up All Night.”

Barry Shevlin is CEO of Vology, a leading networking and telecommunications services and solutions provider. Since joining Vology, Shevlin has grown annual revenues to close to $100 million. A talented software developer, Shevlin founded and grew five companies in technology sectors, including CATV contracting, telecommunications, software and networking sales.

The event is sponsored by The University of Tampa Board of Fellows, Merrill Lynch Wealth Management, the Tampa Bay Business Journal and Sodexo Campus Services. The Board of Fellows holds this networking event three times a year to allow businesses that are well known, changing or new to the Tampa Bay area the opportunity to share their accomplishments and plans with the business community. The next Business Network Symposium will be held on Jan. 29, 2013 and the final symposium is scheduled for April 9, 2013.
