Arrest Made in Ryan McCall Case

Today, the Tampa Police Department announced that an individual has been charged with the death of UT student Ryan McCall. McCall was killed during a robbery in the early morning of Aug. 19, 2009, while he and a friend walked to their off-campus home.

McCall was a senior and a member of UT's cross country team. Since his death, UT has put a special priority on educating its students about being safe off-campus and at night. Part of this education included partnering with the Tampa Police Department to provide programming.

The University of Tampa is grateful for the commitment and persistence of the Tampa Police Department to solve this crime and bring closure to this horrible tragedy. Of course, the University community continues to mourn Ryan McCall’s loss, and our thoughts remain with McCall's family and friends.
