Canada's Consul General in Miami to Speak at UT

Tired of paying almost $4 a gallon at the pump, and wondering why only one quarter of U.S. oil is imported from Canada? Did you know that Canada is one of Florida’s largest trading partners?

Get answers to these, and other, questions during a presentation by Ambassador Louise Léger, consul general of Canada in Miami, on March 1 at 7:30 a.m. at The University of Tampa. Léger will speak on the partnership that exists between the U.S., Canada and Florida and the benefits that arise from it.

Léger joined Canada’s Department of Industry, Trade and Commerce as a trade commissioner in 1981, and became consul general of Canada in Miami in September 2009.

The event, which is free and open to the public, will be held in the Vaughn Center at UT. Seating is limited. Guests may register at www.ut.edu/cfl/speakerseries/.

Léger’s presentation is sponsored by UT’s TECO Center for Leadership in the Sykes College of Business.
