Scott Witherow's primary academic interest lies in the biochemical pedagogy. In the research lab, his background is primarily in the regulation of G protein signaling in cells, but he also engages in alternative projects where biochemical tools can be put to use.Professional and Community Activities
Witherow's recent academic works includes a pedagogical publication in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology Education and the publication of a book entitled Molecular Biology Techniques: A Classroom Laboratory Manual (Fourth Edition). Both of the publications relate to classes taught UT, which have been adopted at other universities around the world. Outside of research, Witherow spends time working with the American Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (ASBMB) in the design, delivery and scoring of their annual certification exam, which is given to students graduating from ASBMB-accredited programs. Outside of UT, he is active in youth sports, specifically at Bloomingdale Youth Sports Association, where he currently serves as vice president.Honors and Awards
