Katie Weaver's primary research and teaching interests are in strategic leadership, corporate entrepreneurship, family business and organizational culture. She has experience teaching management and entrepreneurship courses at both the undergraduate and graduate level.
Professional and Community Activities
Weaver has published articles in several peer-reviewed journals, in academic books and in peer-reviewed online publications, such as EIX.org and FamilyBusiness.org. Weaver has also participated in multiple academic conferences, including AOM, SMA, USASBE and FERC, where she presented her research, chaired sessions and reviewed manuscripts.
Weaver's professional experience includes working as an assistant vice president of commercial lending for a national bank. Before pursuing her doctorate, she was also involved on the University of Tampa Board of Counselors, and served as the Vice Chairman of the Board for the Ryan Nece Foundation, a non-profit organization whose mission is to empower teens to become leaders and impact giving in their communities.
Weaver earned her P.h.D from Florida Atlantic University, her MBA from the University of Tampa, and her B.S. in Marketing from the University of Florida.
