In the field of athletic training/sports medicine, VanOpdorp's specialty areas are emergency care and preparation and rehabilitation.
Professional and Community Activities
Research interests include preceptor education and development, interprofessional collaboration, and advanced functional rehabilitation.
VanOpdorp currently serves on the Association for Athletic Training Education (AATE)'s Faculty Development Committee. She also sits on the Probable Cause Panel for Florida's Board of Athletic Training, where she previously served as the Vice-President.
VanOpdorp is certified as an athletic trainer by the National Athletic Trainers Association Board of Certification, licensed by the Florida Department of Health and a member of the National Athletic Trainers Association, Southeast Athletic Trainers Association and Athletic Trainers Association of Florida. She is also an emergency response instructor for the American Red Cross.
